September Meeting – Dr. Thomas Wahl of UCF

Come and join us as we welcome our guest speaker: Dr. Thomas Wahl, Department of Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering at the University of Central Florida.
 
Dr. Wahl obtained his doctorate in Civil Engineering from the University of Siegen, Germany. He did postdoctoral training as a Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Research Fellow, Engineering and the Environment, University of Southampton, UK. He did research at the Satellite Oceanography Lab and Ocean Modeling and Prediction Lab, College of Marine Science, University of South Florida.
 
Some of Professor Wahl’s research interests are: the sustainability of human-natural systems in coastal zones, climate adaptation and resilience, changes in sea level , storm surges, ocean waves, precipitation, river discharges, and (coastal)-engineering design concepts.
 
All programs are held the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Doors opens at 6:45 pm, with light snacks and socializing. Programs are held from 7-8:45 pm. A brief discussion of environmental issues precedes the program along with info on upcoming outings and events.
 
Admission is always free, and everyone is invited — So come on down, and bring some friends!
