Bike ride and swim at Wekiva Springs State Park
It is still the dog days of summer in Orlando and no pumpkin patches or apple farms are to be found. We still need to get outside and find a way to cool off. Thus, join us Sunday for a slow and leisurely bike ride on the paved road from the swim area at Wekiva to the far parking lot at the other end of the park. This might be a 3 mile bike ride. We will get off our bikes, walk a few short yards to the bench FTA built to honor a member, Chuck, and then ride back to the spring and jump in for a cool dip. Children are welcome and even if they can’t do the 3 miles on bike, they can start the ride then turn around and swim. You don’t even need to bother with bike clothes. Just wear your tee shirt and shorts and jump in the water after the ride. It might rain but who cares–a ride in the rain won’t make you melt!
Admission price to the park is $4.00
