The Sierra Club's policy on fluoride states, "There are now, however, valid concerns regarding the potential adverse impact of fluoridation on the environment, wildlife, and human health."

In Brevard Couny, FL, local citizens are working to end artificial water fluoridation in the Melbourne public water system. Two meetings to discuss the topic have been scheduled:

Meet the experts and ask questions at a Community Meeting: Wednesday, January 23rd, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Space Coast Association of Realtors Building, 2950 Pineda Plaza Way, Palm Shores, FL 32940

Speakers: Dr. Paul Connett, Director of the Fluoride Action Network and co-author of The Case Against Fluoride, Melissa Gallico, author of The Hidden Cause of Acne, and F is for Fluoride

There will be a Special City of Melbourne Council Meeting on Fluoride Thursday, January 24th, 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Council Chambers, 900 E. Strawbridge Ave., Melbourne, FL 32901

Public comments will be allowed after speaker presentations.

We need a hand planting trees at Circle B this weekend!

DESCRIPTION: *Requires sign up. Join this HUGE volunteer community event for Florida’s Arbor Day by helping plant 1000 one-gallon size upland trees at Circle B Bar Reserve! This tree planting event, which will enhance gopher tortoise habitat, is a learning opportunity to get families involved in the environment and conservation of our natural resources. Bring your favorite shovel, gloves, hat, and sun screen! Hot dogs and drinks will be provided after the event courtesy of the Sierra Club, the Native Plant Society and LE/AD (Lakes Education Action Drive).
